Don Quixote – Chapter XX – Summary
Night again.
Strange noise in the dark.
Sancho hears danger.
Don Quixote hears destiny.
They move toward the terrifying sound…
which grows bigger, darker, more dramatic with every step.
In Don Quixote’s mind: legendary adventure.
In Sancho’s mind: very bad idea.
Reality?
A bunch of fulling hammers pounding cloth in a mill.
All that fear. All that build-up.
Industrial laundry.
Sancho laughs. A lot.
Don Quixote… does not.
Then comes the lecture:
Respect your knight. Know your place. Less joking.
For me:
Fear creates monsters.
Imagination crowns them.
Reality quietly keeps doing its job in the background.
