Don Quixote – Chapter XXIII – Summary

After the whole “free the prisoners → get stoned for it” situation…
Don Quixote and Sancho retreat into the mountains.

Sancho is basically:
“Can we please just survive now?”

Don Quixote:
“New adventure loading.”

They find a random abandoned bag.

Inside:
💰 money
👕 nice shirts
📓 a notebook

Sancho: jackpot mode ON
Don Quixote: detective mode ON

Instead of just taking the money and moving on (Sancho’s plan),
Don Quixote goes:
“We must find the owner. This is a story.”

They read the notebook.

Turns out:
👉 some guy is deeply in love
👉 rejected
👉 dramatic poetry level: maximum

Basically heartbreak + ego + suffering = full chaos.

Then they meet locals who explain:

There is a guy in the mountains.
Rich, educated, but now completely broken.
Sometimes polite.
Sometimes goes full madness mode attacking people.

Don Quixote hears this and thinks:
“Perfect. A tragic knight. My kind of guy.”

They finally see him:

Half-naked, jumping around, looking like life hit “hard reset.”

Don Quixote doesn’t hesitate:
goes in for a full emotional hug like they’re long-lost brothers 😄

👉 Core idea:

From external chaos → internal chaos.
Now it’s not society that’s broken… it’s the human heart.

One-liner:
Found money, ignored it… found a broken soul instead.
