Going Postal – Chapter 11: Mission Statement

Going Postal Chapter 11 Mission Statement – “You know you’ve leveled up when the most dangerous man in the city doesn’t stop you… he just decides to watch what you do next.”

So Moist survives the fire.

Which is impressive… but now comes the harder part:
explaining things to Lord Vetinari.

And that’s never just a conversation. It’s more like a chess game where you’re not entirely sure what the rules are… but you’re definitely already losing on points.

Vetinari calmly walks through everything Moist has done — the chaos, the money, the revival of the Post Office — and basically says:

“Yes… interesting. Now explain why I shouldn’t have you executed.”

Moist, of course, does what he does best:
He talks. Fast, clever, slightly sideways. And somehow turns disaster into “unexpected success.”

👉 Key moment:
Moist admits (sort of) what he did with the money — not stolen, but… redistributed. And Vetinari, instead of exploding, is actually… intrigued.

Because here’s the twist:
Moist isn’t just running a scam anymore.
He’s creating movement in the city. Jobs. Energy. Flow.

And Vetinari likes systems that move.

So instead of shutting him down, he lets him continue — but now under very clear, very quiet observation.

Meanwhile, outside the palace politics:
The Post Office keeps growing. People believe in it. They line up. They care.

Moist builds a team, especially around Adora Belle — who is basically the only person not impressed by him, which of course makes her the most important one in the room.

And Moist realizes something uncomfortable:
This is no longer a game he can just walk away from.

Because now… it actually matters.
